About Me

 

 

Hi my name is Paul Ashley. I was born in the UK and moved to NZ in 1997. I came to new Zealand as a back packer and fell in love with the place and the people here and couldn't stand to leave. I now have two fast growing kiwi sons who are great fun and awesome coffee baristers, two crazy sausage dogs, a handful of eggless chooks and some truly amazing kiwi friends. I love to cook for friends and family and need to spend more time in the garden!

 

I run my private practice in Te Atatu, West Auckland on Saturday mornings. Feel free to give me call and chat about how we might work together.

 

 

 

Experience & Qualifications

I currently work in an agency where I provide counselling to young people and their families. I have also experience working in a hospice setting where I provided counselling support to people nearing the end of their biological lives and support to their families experiencing grief and loss. I have also worked in an agency providing support to people marginalized due to their health status and LGBT identities.I have a graduate diploma in counselling from Unitec.

Problems I help with

I work with people, couples and families experiencing a wide variety of problems, in the past these have included; sexual difficulties, confidence, depression, isolation, grief, relationship difficulties, not fitting in, anger, violence within families, past hurts and traumatic experiences that overshadow today's living. I have a special interest in working with LGTB people, couples and families experiencing difficulties.

Fees

My fees are $100 per hour for individuals, families and couples. But please speak to me if money is tight and you cannot manage the full fee.
